OK, so Miss Minni has been on my mind. . , here are more tips:

--When in the public markets, NEVER ever take the first or even second offer. Don't be shocked if the shopkeeper follows you, even if you only seem slightly interested in the item. Offer half if you are really interested and see where it goes.

--Natural fibers are your friends. Rayon, polyester, etc are great for travel because they are easy to "unwrinkle," but they are not very breathable and will trap heat inside the fabric. You are much better off with linen or cotton. They might wrinkle, but at least you won't pass out!

--Monsoon weather means rain and clouds and rain and mist and clouds and mist and rain. If you are looking to take amazing photos, you are better off with close-ups instead of sweeping landscapes because they won't be as clear. Buy one or two professional photos of the places that WOULD have looked better if the weather had cooperated more.

--Be sure your water is sealed from the source. Many vendors sell "bottled" water with tap water in them. Before you purchase the bottle, check the seal. Stores are gererally safe, but vendors in public places, markets, etc. need to be double-checked.

--Keep your heart and mind open. Try the food, dance to the music, see a movie, ride in a rickshaw. You are there to be part of the culture and part of the vibrant scenes! Get in there!
