It's only been a few days, but Bangalore has really captured my heart. I'll let the photos do the talking:
Above--a visit to a former palace (the red dot is from an earlier visit to the Bull Temple and the strand of flowers are from a street vendor (jasmine--lovely!). Below: the flower vendor set up on the sidewalk

Above: choosing a saree from the many colorful options at a local shop. Step 2 (below) is to go to another shop to purchase a petticoat to wear underneath. Mine is the lovely teal and gold one you see on the table. Step 3 (below that) is to go to a tailor who measures you for a perfect fit for the top that goes with your saree. This tailor's shop was down a narrow alleyway. Indira has graciously offered to deliver them to us in Delhi next week when they are finished.

Above: our visit to the Kannada and Tamill school. Below: the view from our hotel

Above: arriving at Bangalore airport after two days of travel (I don't look as exhausted as I felt). Below: my first auto rickshaw ride. Below that: one of the murals on the wall at the Government Primary School.
